Tim McDonald Sr. was the owner of Ft. Walton Machining, a huge facility specializing in high precision machining. I was honored to have known him and his son, and would like to extend my family’s condolences to his family and company. Opportunities to learn more from him, and get to know him better are lost. The Tim I knew was a no pretense kind of chap, super accessible and kind.
Tim loved aviation, and rebuilt a WW-II T-6, fully restored inside and out. Tim went down with the plane, Friday July 2nd, 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico.
The crash remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board. The main fuselage was recovered Sunday, and preliminary report into the cause of the crash to be completed by the beginning of next week.
