 trouble manipulating selections from the prospector. Typically, these end in frustration trying to right-click the set, and having it reduce to only one item.</p>
<h2>Hold the Shift Key</h2>
<p>One thing I found to be extremely helpful is to keep the shift or control key pressed after selecting all the items that you need to affect. It doesn’t activate an alternate menu (on the OEM context menu), and it’s actually a tad bit faster.</p>
<p>In this example I needed to clean up the odd list of Point Groups. I CANT STAND A DISORGANIZED SET OF POINT GROUPS. Anyhow….</p>
<p>Using the control key to pick each group, and then letting go before using the context menu resulted in a single selection 4 times out of 5.</p>
<p>What’s worse than not being able to get the selection you needed? Never knowing whether you will get what you intended.</p>
<p>Just keep the shift (or control) key pressed during the right-click. I guarantee you’ll be a lot more comfortable in the Prospector.</p>
