imageIn a recent article, I interviewed Deelip Menezes about his company sale to 3D Systems and the subsequent announcement about 3D Systems India. Today, Deelip announced that 3D Systems picked up Print3D Corporation, his other company founded with Ron Barranco.

Print3D developed utilities for estimating costs for rapid prototype products right inside CAD software platforms.

Cathy Lewis, Vice President Global Marketing noted that “With Print3D we are taking an additional step towards democratizing access to affordable, safe and viable 3D content-to-print solutions for professionals and consumers alike”. The company plans to commercialize Print3D as a complementary custom parts service to its Quickparts® and 3Dproparts™ services and to leverage this technology to create new user tools and utilities for its entire menus of services. This is an awesome product in my opinion, and I’ve been looking forward to its emergence to market. I asked Deelip about this, and what we could expect. He said he and Ron will continue to develop the Print3D products under the umbrella of the parent 3D Systems, Inc . While no specific release date is being offered, they hope to bring the product to market within a month or two.

Deelip published a brilliant article about the acquisition, and some insights he picked up along the way. It’s worth the time, so check out the link above.
