This post has come about thanks to a reply on a thread I posted about this blog series on the Autodesk Discussion forum. Throughout Autodesk Vault 2012 at both the user and administrator level, there are a number of dialogue boxes which require you to move ‘stuff’ around to configure that specific feature. Unfortunately the UI and it’s behaviour seems to fall into 5 types instead of just one.

It seems the dialogues are reused often throughout the program, so hopefully it won’t be too bad to fix for the next release.

Add Members Dialogue: Appears in a number of places throughout Vault

  • Dialogue can’t be resized
  • No Drag & Drop functionality
  • Add/Remove Buttons have no arrows

Customize Fields Dialogue: Used in the Explorer pane, find tool, preview pane tabs etc

  • Dialogue can’t be resized
  • No Drag & Drop functionality
  • Add/Remove Buttons have single dash arrows

Edit Routing Dialogue used in ECO's

  • No Drag & Drop functionality
  • Add/Remove Buttons have no dash but double arrows

Edit Roles dialogue: Appears when you click on Edit Roles button in the 'Edit Routing Dialogue'. So a child dialogue which has different button styles to its parent...

  • Dialogue can’t be resized

  • Add/Remove Buttons have single dash arrows

Configure Data Card: Found in Administration Vault Options

Assign Category Dialogue: Category Assign menu for Revision, Lifecycle & Property definitions

The dialogue provided to modify the properties available on a specific Item
