PLM 360 | Can’t find a Tab or Workspace in PLM360?

While I was in San Francisco this week, I was asked a question about why the Bill Of Materials tab wouldn’t show up in the Task workspace even though it had been fully set up under the workspace administration settings. Something I learnt early on in my PLM 360 adventure allowed me to answer the question relatively quickly. It came from a Video the legendary Brian Schanen created for the early adopters, Brian will no doubt break covers on a version of that video when the time is right, hopefully he does because its much better than mine. However, in the meantime I thought I would have a go at sharing this golden bit of info with you guys by creating my own video.

Essentially, if you think you should see a tab in a Workspace Item or in the Menu system, then its highly likely you haven’t set-up the user permissions correctly within that workspaces role, or that user hasn’t been added to the correct group.

    Yes Scott, this is exactly what was causing me a problem. I had not added permission to access BOM items from the task workflow. The other mistake I made was only refreshing the task workspace rather than entering it anew after permissions were adjusted. Once I re-entered the task space, the new tabs and functionality appeared.
