This year, colleges and universities from around the world competed in the Ferrari World Design Contest.

Contest

The object was to produce the best design that incorporated “a pure hypercar with technology and materials from the latest generation, a car with an extreme architecture, while functional under every aspect” (Ferrari News release).

Prizes

Internships Ferrari’s Centro Stile were to be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place winners as well as monetary prizes.

The three finalists received their prizes from Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo, CEO Amedeo Felisa, Paolo Pininfarina, Chairman of the Pininfarina Group, and Flavio Manzoni, director of the Ferrari Styling Centre, which organized the contest.

Autodesk Design Award

Ferrari World Design Contest Autodesk Design AwardBrenda Discher, Autodesk’s Vice-President of the Industry Marketing and Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa presented two additional prized for the competition. The ‘Autodesk Design Award’ was presented to the Hongik School for its best use of Alias Design Software.

Additionally the “Most Unexpected Technological Solution” award, was given to Jiangnan University of China, for the audacious technical solutions contained in The Drake concept.
