I had a busy morning trying to help a friend, and it go me thinking ahead to Autodesk university 2010.  I know that I go ape every year in late November because of AU in general. I really enjoy the Blogger social and various Autodesk get-togethers, but right now I’m thinking of classes.

I make no secret of how much I get from attending classes at AU.  My success has been enhanced by attending AU, and I might have been laid off with everyone else if not for the education I have received there.  I admit it’s not magic; I spend a great deal of time reviewing the handouts and applying what I learned into new ways of approaching obscure solutions.  I think the person who first thought of using a Civil 3D Corridor object to handle the edge of a bermed parking lot should get a hall of fame award.

So I am wondering, what will I take this year.  Every year I feel like AU is just going to be a refresher, but every year I am pumped up when I see the class list. I’ll be doing even more journalism than previous years, and time will be short. So I’d want to get the most out of the trip.  This is what I’d be looking forward to:

Civil 3D

  • Jam up good Intersection design with new ways to solve issues
  • Quantity Takeoffs
  • Hydraulic analysis

Inventor

  • Serious Visualization and Lighting
  • Mold Flow and advanced Plastic Part
  • Advanced Routed Systems
  • Some shocking Top Down concepts never conceived (I can dream can’t I?)
  • More Advanced Simulation with insight from Autodesk

Alias Sketch and Design

  • Really awesome workflows to increase productivity 100%

Publisher

  • Really awesome workflows to increase productivity 100%

Navisworks

  • Really solid methodology and organization discussion, with things to avoid

Plant 3D

  • Merging data from multiple applications into a working plan

Fusion

  • There is still more hidden stuff in there, so Tips and Tricks would be good.

and last but not least

Algor

  • Do I really need to name class concepts for this amazing tool?

Anyhow, I was just dreaming a little, and thought I’d get it out of my system for at least a day.  I know this year’s classes are going to be like last year.  So many awesome classes and instructors.  I can’t wait…
